Our learning radar is showing clear skies for self-discovery as we look ahead to another week at Semillas!
Next week’s forecast brings a strong system of “This Is Me” learning into the classroom as our little learners explore who they are, what makes them special, and the wonderful things their growing bodies can do.

Storytime conditions are perfect for discovering what makes each of us unique. As we read together, children will be encouraged to notice themselves and others while building language around identity and belonging.

Developmental Forecast: Self-Awareness
Our developmental radar will be focused on self-awareness — one of the earliest building blocks of social-emotional development.
Through mirrors, songs, conversations, movement, and play, children will have opportunities to recognize themselves, identify parts of their bodies, express their preferences, and begin understanding:
This is my body. These are my feelings. These are the things I like. This is me.

It may be a tiny word, but Yo carries a BIG message this week.
Try it at home:
Yo soy _____. — I am _____.
Yo puedo _____. — I can _____.
Celebrate what your little learner can already do and the new things they are learning every day.
🏡 Family Connection
This weekend's forecast calls for a little mirror weather! 🪞
Stand together in front of a mirror and talk about what you see. Point to your eyes, nose, hair, hands, and feet. Talk about ways you are alike and ways you are different.
Then ask:
“¿Quién eres?” — “Who are you?”
And celebrate the answer:
“¡Yo soy yo!” — “I am me!”
